Cinegy Encode


Cinegy Encode is ideal for broadcast operations that receive a large number of satellite feeds. Incoming SD and HD RTP streams from satellites, playout devices and network sources are registered using the Cinegy Route registry server and are converted to broadcast-quality IP video streams in realtime.

Once incoming streams are transferred to the Ethernet network, they are available for logging, editing and other activities, as well as immediate playout, in realtime and without additional transcoding. Two hundred or more streams can be captured, managed and routed simultaneously. Individual streams can be accessed from any point in the network, without generation loss.

Registered RTP streams can be captured from the Ethernet networks via Cinegy Ingest in the same way as other live sources. Cinegy Encode has the ability to ingest SD and HD SDI streams from any standard playback device and encode them as RTP streams at speeds up to 200 mbps.

It has the ability to convert SD or HD SDI streams into broadcast-quality, SMPTE-compliant RTP/UDP streams or vice versa. Cinegy Encode can convert multiple streams simultaneously with user-definable quality settings that meet the most demanding broadcast requirements.

Cinegy Multiviewer


Cinegy Multiviewer enables broadcasters and production houses to monitor streams from satellites, camera feeds, playout devices and other sources locally and remotely. Featuring a robust analysis and alert system, detecting signal problems as they occur, Cinegy Multiviewer runs on commodity IT servers or workstations receiving RTP/UDP streams via Ethernet or uncompressed video using standard SDI cards from vendors such as AJA, BMD, DVS or Deltacast. Decoding support for MPEG-2, H.264 and H.265 up to 4K in full 4.2.2 color, along with MPEG audio, AAC-HE2 and Dolby Digital / AC-3 decoding is built in – with Dolby E decoding available as an option.

Fully customizable

Cinegy Multiviewer can easily adapt to your requirements with a fully customizable interface that can be designed using a WYSIWYG multi-layout editor. Cinegy Multiviewer can drive two full 4K UHD monitors, providing enough real-estate and video resolution for even the most demanding control room. For those times when the control room is not near the equipment, or the viewer is not in the control room, Cinegy Multiviewer supports full RTP retransmission of the output screen in up to 4K 4:2:2 resolutions, making any of the configured multiple layouts viewable anywhere in the building or in the world with remote control via a web interface.

Saving costs

Cinegy Multiviewer can receive single program or multiplexed feeds (MPTS) from standard satellite or cable receivers, relaying entire transponders via RTP/UDP onto the network, dramatically reducing the number of IRDs required for monitoring return feeds. Cinegy Multiviewer also supports local SDI inputs for low-latency SDI signal monitoring.

Versatile monitoring

Cinegy Multiviewer displays channel name, audio level indicators, as well as real-time video previews, playing the incoming video at full frame rate. In addition, the alarm indicators display signal presence of audio and video, VANC components (CC, AFD, V-Chip), while VU meters dynamically show all present audio channels (stereo, 5.1, etc.) and LKFS loudness with Dolby DialNorm. If any signal component is outside defined parameters, a corresponding alarm indicator lights up, log entries are generated and a predefined alert is sent via email, SNMP, HTTP or API. If your stream contains Closed Captions or DVB subtitles, Cinegy Multiviewer can decode and display these in-place over the related video.


Cinegy Multiviewer is ideal for local and remote operations. It can be massively scaled from just a few to hundreds of channels while remaining fully supported in a cloud-based or hosted service environment.

Cinegy Multiviewer is very easy to manage due to its fully customizable interface where each channel input representation is equipped with a set of preview components and indicators. It allows an operator to monitor as many channels as needed, indicating the real-time status of each channel and a view of the resulting video from any station in the network, in any part of the world.

The Multiviewer output also supports fully-customizable designs with multi-layout views of sources with an integrated, intuitive layout designer – all of which when deployed can be rendered directly to a standard screen or even recompressed and streamed back to the network.

Replacing aging SDI-based infrastructures with Internet protocol (IP) based infrastructure technology has become an increasingly popular choice among broadcasters seeking to improve workflow efficiency and cut costs. IP infrastructures permit stream-data to be transported over Ethernet networks, rather than via SDI switches and cables, and offer numerous advantages to broadcasters. IP infrastructures are far less costly to build and maintain. They also provide greater capacity and enhanced flexibility, allowing broadcast operations to grow more quickly and run more smoothly with fewer problems.

Directory Services

Anyone that ever used an SDI router soon realized they need somewhere to write down what they plugged into it. That problem is magnified with the flexibilities of multicast and IP streaming, leading all too quickly to a soup of media data flowing through a network with no easy way to separate out.

Enter Cinegy Route Directory Service, a centralized database of available, registered streams in your video network. Using integration with MS Active Directory, it’s simple to control who can enter, manage, discover or update your directory of streams. In fact, using intuitive security controls to restrict what operators can find isn’t just about preventing abuse – it’s critical to helping people feel comfortable and in control of working on signals they care about for their job, without interfering with others and seeing unwanted streams on the remote control panels.

Making Connections

Once the door to IP streams has been opened by customers looking to move forward from classic baseband signals, you quickly realize you didn’t just leave the cable which carried the signal – you also lost some of the smarts in the devices they connected to. As the first to bring IP signals to the mainstream, Cinegy already found all these problems and developed solutions for them. Using the rich client tools provided as a part of the Cinegy Route package, operators can preview streams from the network directly at their PC – and then step things up a level using the unique ‘Virtual Destination’ technology at the heart of Cinegy Route. Never again bind a device that will receive an IP stream to an address – just bind it to our Virtual Destination URL and anything supporting our look-up format can resolve to the stream. With our multicast announcement services, devices can follow a stream as the Virtual Destination changes – giving a clean, centralized configuration of all your device inputs.

Too many times have people cared only about the video, forgetting that many parts of the workflow require careful handling of audio flows. Cinegy Route allows the registration of audio-only services, as well as permitting operators to specify how a receiving device should mix, amplify, shuffle or delay audio channels – or even grab the audio from totally different streams and combine into a new output.
